St. Lawrence College Hosting Open House at Brockville Campus This Saturday, April 15th

Brockville – St. Lawrence College (SLC) is holding its annual Spring Open House event at its Brockville campus this Saturday, April 15th.

The open house runs from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Whether you are a student or someone considering upskilling, coming to Open House will let you see the facilities, people, and services available to all our students,” says Glenn Vollebregt, SLC President and CEO. “There’s never been a better time to be an Ontario college student – our programs are practical and reflect real-world business and industry settings and expectations. Our graduates are equipped to succeed when they begin their careers, and they start creating connections right from the first day that they join us.”

SLC Services Fair will also be available from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. Stop by and get information about:

• OSAP/Financial Aid
• Student Wellness & Accessibility
• Academic Support Centre & Peer Tutoring

Attendees may visit program sessions and service workshops and participate in various interactive demonstrations.

Program sessions start at 9:30 am.

The interactive demonstrations you can participate in:

• Nursing simulation demos in labs using high-fidelity mannequins
• Fine Arts – Visual & Creative Arts: Current students’ exhibit in the Marianne Van Silfhout Gallery
• Music Theatre – Performance: Guests will meet faculty, experience the program and participate in 3 disciplines (dance/drama/vocal). Fall 2023 applicants’ audition call backs will be taking place in the morning. Each applicant who attends will receive a ticket to the 4:00 pm performance of the Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Brockville Arts Centre
• Personal Support Worker (PSW): Simulation of basic care tasks that fall under the PSW scope of practice; in the SLC Home Suite.
• Pre-Service Firefighter Education and Training: Vehicle extrication demo in fireground training area
• Pictures with our mascot, Storm!
