Brockville – Calling all golfers as the 10th annual Annabale Designs Golf Classic is set for Monday, June 12th at the Brockville Country Club.
This year is going to be a big year for the tourney, including two lifts this year, Beat the Jr. Pros, world long drive, and more.
“It’s our 10th year running. We’re happy to be back at the Brockville Country Club. And as usual, the fun aspects of the tournament are what we focus on now as we’re in the planning stages.” Said David Annable, Annable Designs Golf Classic Organizer.
“So we’ve got the World Long Drive Federation. They’re coming down, they’re being sponsored by Charity International and they have a prize pack that most of our golfers are going to be really excited about. It’s a $5000 Pebble Beach prize pack. I believe two rounds of golf, a night stay and airfare to Pebble Beach. So that will be live on one hole.”
Annable added, “We’ve got our beat the junior pros back, which is always a big event. Then, in addition, we’ll have our whole in ones and a full round of golf for everybody.
“This year, we’ve added an express lunch to the noon tee-off. In addition, we’re reaching out to people because we’ve always had waiting lists. We have an 8:00 AM tee-off time that has an express breakfast and you’ll get the rounds through, and all the live events will still be there for the 8:00 AM Tee off. We’re going big this year and hopefully, people will turn out so you can still register a team or individuals.” commented Annable.
Annable says that there is still time to register yourself or your team for a round of golf, with close to 50% already booked.
“Right now registration is live. We’re coming out of the sponsor phase. We really push hard to get our sponsors and our corporate partners in place. We’re now turning heads now that the weather has changed for golfers because they don’t see snow on their clubs and progress forward. Now with golfers, they can visit adcharitygolf.ca. You can pay online and the forms are all online and everything is set up. I think we’ve got 50% of the field already booked. So there’s 50% left.” said Annable.
Funds raised from the golf tournament are going to the Tim Horton’s Foundation Camps in association with Tim Hortons Brockville this year. Over the years the tourney has raised over $114,000 for various charities.
“So the first few years we were partnered with Habitat for Humanity and then we made a shift, I believe, six or seven years ago to Tim Horton’s foundation camps, partnered with Tim Horton’s Brockville. Tim Horton’s Brockville is very passionate and goes all out for their camp day. So, the Joyce family and I made a deal and we’re there to support their camp day fundraising, which again goes to Tim Hortons foundation camps.” added Annable.
Come out for a round of golf, help sponsor the event, or if you are not a golfer, come out for the banquet with live music.
“It’s our 10th year, Natasha and myself, our family has given to this community over and above what we ever expected we’d be able to, we’ve always wanted to. So we’re calling on the community, to come out and support and if you’re not a golfer or don’t have the means to sponsor, that’s fine. Come out, and have a great time. We have a banquet. You can get a ticket for the banquet for $70 and we’ve got the Johnny Canuck Show doing a full live performance to close out the event.”
