Brockville – Author Thomas King says, “The truth about stories is that that’s all we are.”
On Wednesday, May 10th, I am excited to host another Storytelling Swap Night. Folks are invited to gather in a circle to tell a short story and to listen to one another. We start with a storytelling brain teaser to get everyone involved and then invite folks to share a short story. It can be a personal account or something from oral traditions such as folk tales, legends, fairy lore or myths. We sometimes choose themes for upcoming swaps such as stories of love and romance, wisdom and wonder, or oceans and rivers.
Folks are invited to enter into a relaxed and comfortable setting where we are given the gift of time to step away from the fast-paced, social-media-driven lifestyle.
Everyone is welcome. A contribution toward the rental of the facility is appreciated.
Host Deborah Dunleavy is an award-winning international storyteller and author living on the outskirts of Brockville, Ontario. www.deborahdnleavy.com
