Brockville – Sunday was Little League Day as the Bunnies hosted the Ottawa Knights for a doubleheader at Fulford Park.
In game one, the Bunnies jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning. Ryan Robinson and Noah Deryaw each picked up two hits, with Hunter Sanger, James Spooner, and Rowan Hicks each chipping in with one hit.
Similar to Saturday, a few errors in big spots ended up being the difference as they lost 10-8 to the Knights.
The final game of the weekend was made tough due to injuries, as only ten Bunnies were able to take the field. Bright spots from the game included three different players hitting doubles (Deryaw, Jack Sloan, and Lucas Gravlin) and RBI contributions from Robinson, Sanger, and Jackson Lemieux.
Brockville Bunnies’ rookie, Kody Kirton, also picked up his first RBI with the club. It was nice to see the lineup battle in their plate appearances while facing an Ottawa starter with velocity.
Lemieux threw the final 1.2 innings of the day, with a strikeout, in his first pitching appearance as a member of the Bunnies.
Thank you to all of the Little Leaguers (and their parents), for coming out to the ballpark and supporting our u19 baseball team.
