Brockville – Most of you probably know this young man. Slater is an absolute sports advocate and enthusiast in our community in every way. Always smiling with an uplifting positive personality even when times are tough.

Slater had a courageous battle with Testicular Cancer last year and with his determination, family support and fight he checked that battle off the list and was given a green light receiving tremendous news that his cancer was in remission. Unfortunately, not long after Slater received news cancer had returned once again.

Slater begins another fight and knowing this community will be 100% behind him. We learned from Krissy (Mom) that Slater has a road in front of him as his medical team prepares Slater for clinical Stem cell therapy treatments. The process is long, and Slater will have many appointments that take him into the next year.

As you know Krissy and Jay are always giving back to this community in so many ways, always giving, sharing and caring. Now it’s time for us all to come together in any way that is possible even if it is simply kind words of encouragement. This would be any parent’s worst nightmare, but this family has a fight! And we need to show them this community is behind them 1000%

This Saturday, June 10th starting at 10:00 am at the Brockville Memorial Center the community will come together to show Slater how much extra local love there is.

It will be a fun-filled day with Bouncy Castles, Face painting, Carwash and BBQ, Kitley Fire, Brockville Police, O.P.P. of Leeds and Grenville, Dunk Tank, YMCA of Brockville and even more to come.

There will be live music by Willy Stevenson from 11 am to 1 pm, Tinted Wisdom from 2 pm to 5 pm and another one to come. We have a silent auction that will be launched soon with over 60 prizes from so many great organizations in Brockville and Area and still collecting prizes.

Lots more to come, so stay tuned and will post more as it comes together.

How can you help?? Spread the word, come out and participate. Everything will be free but donations are always appreciated. We have 3000 “DO IT FOR SLATER” bracelets you can pick one up at many locations (to be shared) with a donation.

If you would like to be part of the event, or have a fun-filled idea and would like to participate at the Memorial Center let us know!! We are still collecting Silent Auction Prizes, and looking for area businesses to have bracelets available. The Silent auction will be launched soon, and more details will be in a separate post.

100% of the proceeds raised will be given to Slater as the family has lots of upcoming expenses. If you have any questions, please call us or email
