Heavy Police Presence In The Area
ELIZABETHTOWN-KITLEY TOWNSHIP – The public can expect to see a heavy police presence in the Toledo area, as members of the Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continue to investigate a death.
On July 31, 2023, just after 7:00 a.m., officers responded to a residence where one person was located deceased. A postmortem examination has been scheduled to determine the cause of death.
Investigators believe there is no threat to public safety.
The investigation is being conducted by the Leeds County Detachment Crime Unit and OPP Forensic Identification Services, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
