Thousand Islands Watershed Land Trust Hosting 30th Anniversary Celebration and Fundraiser August 27th

Glen Elbe – The Thousand Islands Watershed Land Trust (TIWLT) will celebrate thirty years of excellence in conservation by hosting a fundraising celebration on August 27th at their Glen Elbe Learning Centre, near Athens, Ontario.

TIWLT is arguably the most important land trust in North America, situated at what is nature’s ‘crossroads on the continent’, an intersection of migration routes where five forest regions meet and intermingle and hundreds of species, from butterflies to moose who migrate through every year.

Through strategic land acquisition, conservation easements, and willing partners, the TIWLT team has been instrumental in saving and preserving land for future generations 4ever.

The TIWLT Learning Centre at Glen Elbe is functioning now and sharing the area’s amazing stories, from stagecoaches and a plank road to new greenhouses and a climate change arboretum.

TIWLT aims to conserve 30% of wildland within our watershed by the year 2030. Success will depend on the generosity and support of individuals and companies who understand that when you protect nature, you are safeguarding your own future.

The trails to the waterfall are open to explore. We’ll feature the bluesy-roots music of River City Junction, delectable treats from Jack the Happy Chef, refreshments by Daft Brewery and some truly great auction items presented by accredited auctioneer and Gananoque Mayor, John Beddows. The pre-confederation gardens are a showcase of colour.

All those who value a green future and are ready to help the Land Trust launch the next chapter, are invited to join the celebration on August 27 at the Glen Elbe Farm.

Please don’t delay. Tickets are limited but we need and ask for your support. The occasion will be memorable, and it is all for the best of reasons protecting and saving the area we love.
