UPDATED: Police say three outstanding residents of the building who were unaccounted for have all been located and are safe!
Brockville – The Brockville Fire Department along with EMS and Police responded to an active structure fire around 3:00 a.m. this morning at the corner of Perth Street and Brock Street in Brockville.
Police stated in a news release this morning that one occupant of the building has been confirmed deceased and they are still attempting to locate and speak with three other residents of the building. Personal details of the deceased are not being disclosed at this time in respect of their family police said.
As of 3:00 pm on Saturday, September 16th police say that the three outstanding residents of the building who were unaccounted for have all been located and are safe. All known occupants of the building are now accounted for.
“The investigation is ongoing and involves The Brockville Police Service, The Brockville Fire Department, The Office of the Fire Marshall and the Office of the Chief Coroner. Unfortunately, as we know, fire investigations are complex. Police are asking that the public remain clear of the area while the investigation is underway,” said Staff Sergeant Darryl Boyd
