Morrisburg – With a legacy of crafting unforgettable Halloween experiences for over a decade, the St. Lawrence Parks Commission (SLPC) is set to deliver three Halloween experiences this year with something for everyone.
Beginning September 29, SLPC presents the original Pumpkinferno at Upper Canada Village in Morrisburg, Kingston’s newest Pumpkinferno by Kingston Pen Tours and the return of Fort Fright at Fort Henry in Kingston.
The fan-favourite and family-friendly fall festive Pumpkinferno event returns this year to its hometown in Morrisburg at Upper Canada Village and its new location in Kingston at Kingston Penitentiary.
Pumpkinferno is a luminary experience for all ages, a mesmerizing installation of more than 7,000 handcrafted, glowing artificial pumpkins set up along a curated self-tour path against the architectural backdrop of Kingston Penitentiary.
First introduced at Fort Henry in 2007, returning in 2023 after a hiatus through the pandemic, Fort Fright represents one of the largest-scale, detailed event productions in eastern Ontario. The scare attraction presents a nightmarish realm of creatures and monsters using more than 50 movie-style, quality animatronics, dynamic special effects, intense sound and lighting and costumed scare actors.
Fort Fright also opens September 29 and runs select evenings until October 31. Dark Night Thursdays at Fort Fright, a new experience for those seeking extra chills, take place October 19 and 26, 2023.
All three Halloween experiences are timed-entry ticketed events and tickets need to be purchased in advance from https://tickets.parks.on.ca/. Availability on the website appears in real time. When the website indicates sold out for a specific evening, tickets are no longer available for that evening.
