The winning team was Newterra with the fastest time of 30.05. Coming in second place was the Elizabethtown-Kitley Fire Department.
This year area Mayors had a team competing, consisting of Augusta Mayor Jeff Shaver; Rideau Lakes Mayor Arie Hoogenboom, Elizabethtown-Kitley Mayor Brant Burrow, Westport Mayor Robin Jones, Merrickville-Wolford Mayor Michael Cameron, Edwardsburgh-Cardinal Mayor Tory Deschamps, Prescott Mayor Gauri Shankar and Brockville Mayor Matt Wren.
The team was put together in honour of the late former Brockville Mayor George E. Smith, the namesake of the event.
The event raises funds for the YMCA’s financial assistance program that provides support to those in our community who would not otherwise be able to access the Y’s healthy and inclusive programs and services. The need in the community has grown during the Covid-19 pandemic.
