Gananoque Police Reports: October 20, 2023

Gananoque – Police reports from the Gananoque Police Service from September 27th to October 17th, 2023.

Fraud:

On September 27th, 2023, the Gananoque Police Service received a report of fraud from a local business with a cheque being re-cashed numerous times, totalling approximately $200.00.

An investigation was conducted, and as a result, a 41-year-old female from Gananoque was arrested on October 12th, 2023, and charged with Use, deals, acts on forged document x 2, and Fraud under $5000. The female was released on an appearance notice, to be seen in court at a later date.

Bench Warrant:

On October 13th, 2023, a bench warrant was issued by the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville, attend court. That same day, the
male was arrested and released on an appearance notice, to be seen in court at a later date.

Public Intoxication:

On October 16th, 2023, police responded to a report of a 35-year-old intoxicated male causing a disturbance outside of a residence. Due to the male’s impaired state, he was arrested for public intoxication and held until sober. The male was charged with a Provincial Offence Notice for Being intoxicated in a public place.

Warrant:

On October 17th, 2023, while officers were on patrol, they observed a male known to be wanted by a neighbouring service. The warrant was confirmed by that service, and the 55-year-old male from Gananoque was arrested. Officers met with officers of the Kingston Police Force and the male was turned over into their custody.

Missing Person:

On October 17th, 2023, officers responded to a 9-1-1 emergency call of a missing 78-year-old female with early dementia in the early morning hours. Police also received a call from a woman knocking on doors. Officers located the female and brought her back to her family, but was later transported to hospital after being assessed by paramedics.
