Leeds & Grenville – Leeds & Grenville’s 15th Annual Economic Development Summit is set for Friday, November 17th in Kemptville.
Hosted by the Leeds Grenville Economic Development Office each November, the day focuses on economic development and leadership. Presentations provide attendees with insight into new developments, along with strategies and projects that reposition our local assets.
This event is in partnership with Michael Barrett, M.P., Hon. Steve Clark, M.P.P., the Eastern Workforce Innovation Board and the 1000 Islands, Grenville and Valley Heartland Community Futures Development Corporations.
The event runs from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the North Grenville Municipal Centre.

The keynote speaker will be Ontario’s Minister of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development, David Piccini.
Minister Piccini is the Member of Provincial Parliament for Northumberland – Peterborough South. Prior to this appointment, he was Minister of Environment, Conservation and Parks. Before entering public service, Minister Piccini worked for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Shorelines Casino Thousand Islands and Leclerc Leaders will also provide updates at the Summit.
As well, the annual Bill Thake Memorial Economic Development Leadership Award will be given out at the summit.
Introduced in 2011, this annual award, also called the Warden’s Award, recognizes and celebrates a volunteer who has shown outstanding commitment and leadership resulting in the growth and vitality of the Leeds Grenville economy.
The winner of this award will be announced prior to the Economic Development Summit on November 17th, 2023, and will be officially honoured at the event.
