Gananoque – Police reports from the Gananoque Police Service.
Failure to Comply:
On August 24, 2023, a committal warrant was issued by the Superior Court of Brockville Family Court for failure to comply with a family court order, for a 34-year-old male from Gananoque.
On October 25th, 2023 the male attended the Gananoque Police Service for a probation meeting and was arrested and transported to the Brockville jail as dictated by the warrant.
Failure to Comply:
On September 22, 2023, a male who was on a charge for Failure to Comply with Undertaking, was alleged to have breached his conditions. As a result, a warrant was obtained for his arrest.
On October 25th, 2023, the 45-year-old male from Mallorytown attended the police station for fingerprinting. He was arrested and charged with Failure to Comply with Release Order, and Failure to Comply with Undertaking x2. He was released on an Undertaking with conditions, to be seen in court at a later date.
Failure to Attend Court:
On October 6th, 2023, the Gananoque Police Service received a bench warrant from the Ontario Court of Justice, Brockville for a 38-year-old male from Portland who had failed to attend court.
On October 24, 2023, officers were notified that the male was in custody with another service but was released shortly. Officers attended the Brockville Jail and arrested the male, who was held in custody for a bail hearing.
Wanted:
On October 19th, 2023, officers assisted the ROPE Squad (Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement) in arresting a 46-year-old male from Brampton who was wanted by the Toronto Police Service for domestic violence-related offences. The male was arrested and custody was transferred to the Toronto Police.
Stolen Vehicle Found:
On October 27th, 2023 the Gananoque Police Service received a report of an abandoned vehicle on a trail off Beaver Road. Officers attended and confirmed the 2017 white Ford Expedition had been reported stolen to the Lanark County OPP. The vehicle was removed and OPP was notified. Warrant:
On October 28th, 2023, officers attended a Stone Street residence for a report of a disturbance outside of the home. Officers located a 28-year-old male from Prescott, who was hiding from police. After identifying the male, it was discovered the male had several warrants held by the OPP.
The male was arrested and turned over to the custody of the Ontario Provincial Police. Officers located and confirmed the female resident was unharmed and that no criminal offences had taken place.
Mischief/Obstruction:
On October 31st, 2023, officers on patrol observed a male inside a local financial institution who had previously been trespassed from the property. Officers spoke with the male who was belligerent and began littering around the business.
Previous reports involving the male stated that he was interfering with the customer’s use of the property. As a result, the 45-year-old male from Gananoque was arrested and charged with Mischief – Obstructing and interfering with the lawful use or operation of property. He was held for a bail hearing.
