“I’m pleased that the provincial and federal governments are investing over $5 million to make the Prescott Water Tower Replacement happen. It’s important that all three levels of government work together to ensure vital infrastructure is maintained in our communities.” said – Steve Clark, Member of Provincial Parliament for Leeds–Grenville–Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes

The Government of Canada is investing over $2.7 million in this project through the Green Infrastructure Stream of the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program. The Government of Ontario is providing more than $2.3 million, while the Town of Prescott is contributing over $1.7 million along with a $90,168 contribution from the Township of Augusta.

This project ensures that the municipality can continue to provide safe drinking water to our residents, businesses, and industries. The new Water Tower is being co-located at the recently opened Seymour Recreation Complex. It is also strategically being placed to support services beyond the Town’s borders into Augusta Township and Edwardsburgh Cardinal.

All orders of government continue to work together for the people of Ontario to make strategic infrastructure investments in communities across the province when needed most.
