United Way Leeds & Grenville delivers $294,188 to 11 community service organizations through the Government of Canada’s Community Services Recovery Fund

Brockville – United Way Leeds & Grenville is pleased to announce $294,188 in funding to support 11 projects in Leeds Grenville through the Government of Canada’s Community Services Recovery Fund.

The Community Services Recovery Fund is a one-time investment of $400 million by the Government of Canada to help Community Service Organizations (charities, non-profits, Indigenous governing bodies) adapt, modernize, and be better equipped to improve the efficacy, accessibility, and sustainability of the community services that they are providing through the pandemic recovery and beyond.

The following projects are being supported in Leeds Grenville:

• Anglican Parish of Prescott – FOSJ for the Greater Glory Garden Project 2023 – $24,000
• Brockville General Volunteer Association – Post-Pandemic Volunteer Recovery – $20,000
• Centennial Road Church – Service Technology Access Project – $15,000
• Community and Primary Health Care – Automated Scheduling System – $20,900
• Employment and Education Centre – Tech Upgrade – $33,000
• Heritage 1000 Islands Village Foundation – Access to Heritage Through on Demand Education Programming – $40,000
• Kemptville Campus Education and Community Centre – Kemptville Incubator Community Kitchen (KICK) – $74,288
• RNJ Youth Services – Connections RNJ: Strengthening our Capacity to Deliver – $12,000
• SCS (Kemptville Seniors) – SCS Volunteer Program Redesign – $20,000
• Thousand Islands Foundation for the Performing Arts – Thousand Islands Playhouse Audience Access Initiative – $20,000
• Thousand Islands River Heritage Society – Digitizing the Glassworks Data – $15,000

Community service organizations are at the forefront of addressing communities’ needs. Since the early phases of the COVID-19 pandemic, they have struggled with increased demand for their services, reduced revenues, declines in charitable giving due to the rising cost of living, and a greater need to make use of digital tools. Many organizations are struggling to recover and adapt their services to the changing needs of Leeds & Grenville.
