Brockville – The Brockville Girls Hockey Association sponsored by Brockville Hyundai had three teams in this past weekend’s GCGH Kickin’ Ice in the Capital Competitive Hockey Tournament held at the Richcraft Sensplex in Ottawa.
The U15 Competitive team won the semi-final game 1-0 after regulation, overtime and a 9-shooter shoot-out over Gloucester on Saturday night. On Sunday they fought hard for gold in the championship game but fell 2-1 to Smith Falls in overtime and brought home the silver medal.
The U18 Competitive Team went 1-0-2 in round robin, then Saturday night they took the semi-final game 2-1 over Nepean. On Saturday they battled hard for gold in the championship game against Gloucester taking it to overtime and then a nail-biting shootout. The U18 Competitive Angels brought home the gold.
The U13 Competitive Girls had a great weekend going with 3 wins and 1 loss in the regular play. The girls only fell short of the Glengarry Highlanders, who they once again met in the gold medal game. The girls battled hard, ending the game by missing out by one goal with a final score of 3-2 to bring home silver.
