Cardinal – The Township of Edwardsburgh-Cardinal held an awards ceremony recognizing two of the Township’s outstanding citizens before the Council meeting this past Monday, December 11th.
Karie Smail was the 2023 Citizen of the Year recipient along with Kadynn Morrison the 2023 Youth Citizen of the Year recipient.
The Township said in a press release, “Thank you for your dedication, time & generosity. Please know that your volunteerism is recognized, appreciated, valued and cherished.”
“When you volunteer, you are making a commitment to share that most precious of resources – your time – to make life better for those who are in need. The fruits of your labours make a tangible impact, of course, but perhaps it is the fact that you are willing to share your time and talent to lend a helping hand and to show kindness and caring that makes the greatest difference in the lives of the individuals who are touched by your generosity.” the press release continued.
They went on to say, “Township values how its many volunteers generously give their time, encourage community achievement and act with kindness, which is why it is important to continue recognizing these individuals who help build vibrant communities all year long.”
