Brockville – City police responded to a home invasion on Sunday, December 17th around 2:30 am at an apartment building on King Street East.
Police say they learned that multiple suspects entered the victim’s apartment and had a handgun. According to the police, the suspects struck the victim in the head and forced her out of her unit and into a neighbouring apartment. While there the assaults continued.
Eventually, the suspects released the female victim.
Members of the Brockville Police Service Emergency Response Team were called in to assist and quickly secure the area. Police said that the crime scene was contained and officers were able to eventually clear the victim’s unit to check on the safety of everyone inside.
The victim was taken to the hospital for significant, but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say parts of an airsoft handgun were located and seized and the three suspects are local to Brockville but do not reside in the building as they were there visiting.
The following is the breakdown of the subjects and their charges.
31-year-old, male:
- Robber using a firearm
- Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
- Assault with a weapon
- Break and enter
- Kidnapping – confine
25-year-old, female:
- Unlawfully in a dwelling
- Assault causing bodily harm
- Kidnapping – confine
- Robbery with violence
24-year-old, female.
- Assault causing bodily harm
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Break and Enter
- Robbery with a weapon
- Kidnapping – confine
The three suspects were arrested and held for bail hearings.
