Brockville – It may be December but the fundraising campaign for the local share of the Sherwood Park Manor redevelopment is heating up with the campaign passing $2.2 million of the $5-million goal.
On December 2nd Sherwood Park Manor celebrated its “Legacy of Care: The Next 50 Years” at Roebuck Hall as the long-term care home located along County Road 2 just east of Brockville officially launched its $5-million fundraiser for the local share of the $45.8 million redevelopment.
Presentations were made honouring the first major donors of the campaign, received by Alfred O’Rourke, left in photos, the manor administrator, and Ken Durand, on the right, chair of the manor board.

* $1 million from the Sherwood Park Manor Foundation, presented by Ian Waggott, foundation chair;
* $500,000+ from David and Ann Beatty;
* $500,000 from the City of Brockville, presented by Acting Mayor Councillor Nathalie Lavergne;
* $100,000 from Elizabethtown-Kitley Township Mayor Brant Burrow (also a member of the SPM board);
* $50,000 from Northern Cables;
* $40,000 from the Rotary Clubs of Brockville, presented by Bruce Leslie, president of the afternoon club, and Ray Marshall, past president of the morning club;
* $32,500 from Augusta Township, presented by Mayor Jeff Shaver.
