Brockville – 2024 was welcomed by local leaders on Monday at the city’s New Year’s Day Levee held at the Brockville Arts Centre.
Brockville Mayor Matt Wren along with city councillors, Cameron Wales, Katherine Hobbs and Jeff Earl welcomed city residents, regional leaders: Elizabethtown-Kitley Mayor Brant Burrow and Tory Deschamps, mayor of Edwardsburgh Cardinal,, members of the Brockville Rifles and the city’s emergency services leaders at the Levee on Monday.
Those who spoke talked about working together and regional cooperation.

Also, the Brockville Rifles Honorary Col. Allan Bird and Honorary Lt. Col. Anne Johnston spoke to the crowd during the Levee.
The New Year’s Day Levee was also a chance for both Mayor Wren and Councillor Cameron Wales to recognize nine-year-old Brockville resident Kamden McLean, whose enthusiasm for the ships passing by Brockville’s waterfront led him to put together a colouring book.

Funds raised from the sale of the colouring book went to purchasing allergen-free food items for the Brockville and Area Food Bank.
