Brockville – City Police responded to a single-vehicle collision on First Ave. on Sunday, January 14th around 7:45 pm after receiving multiple 911 calls.
When police arrived they found that a 31-year-old, male driver, had lost control of his vehicle, and struck a curb and also a parked vehicle with significant damage done to both vehicles.
Police said that the driver attempted to flee the scene but became hung up in a snowbank nearby. The driver was arrested for failing to remain and impaired driving.
He was brought to the Brockville Police Service for further testing which confirmed he was over the legal limit.
The vehicle was impounded, the driver’s licence was suspended and he was charged with operation while impaired, operation while impaired – blood alcohol over 80mg and failing to stop after the collision. The driver was released on conditions and a future court date.
