Brockville – Brockville and Leeds-Grenville are under a Freezing Rain Warning once again. Environment Canada says that another significant episode of freezing rain is expected overnight into Friday.
An episode of freezing rain similar to the one experienced Wednesday and Wednesday night will affect our area beginning late overnight or early Friday morning, and ending Friday afternoon.
Several hours of freezing rain are likely and significant ice accretion or build-up of 5 to 10 mm.
Some locations may see a changeover to rain on Friday if temperatures rise above the freezing mark.
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas. Ice build-up may cause tree branches to break. Utility outages may occur.
Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ONstorm@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports using #ONStorm.
