Brockville – A 40-year-old man is facing numerous charges after his vehicle was stopped for driving through a red light.
Brockville Police say that around 5:00 pm on January 25th they stopped a vehicle after it went through a red light on Central Ave.
Officers found out the driver was operating the vehicle while prohibited from driving due to previous impaired convictions and his driver’s licence was also under a separate suspension for unpaid fines.
Police were also concerned with the driver’s current level of sobriety during the traffic stop. They requested a roadside breath test from the driver who refused to provide a sample.
The driver was arrested and later released with the following charges:
- Failure or refusal to comply with demands,
- Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code,
- Driving a motor vehicle not equipped with an ignition interlock device,
- Driving while under suspension
- Failing to stop at a red light
He has been issued a future court appearance date.
