Aeros Lost 5-4 to Arnprior in OT Sunday in EOJHL

Athens – The Athens Aeros lost 5-4 in overtime to the Arnprior Packers on Sunday in EOJHL action at Centre 76.

Athens’ first goal of the night came from Rylan Boyer at 7:03 in the first period. Arnprior had scored earlier in the period on the powerplay. It was tied 1-1 at the end of the first.

The Aeros’ Colby Leaver would score the second goal for Athens at 2:11 in the second period on the powerplay, but Packers’ Brett Richardson would tie the game up again 2-2 in the second.

In the third Rhett Palmer and Jules Facchini would each pick up a goal for the Aeros making it 4-2 Athens but Arnprior would pick up two more as well to tie the game 4-4 by the end of the period.

In the overtime period, the Packers’ Justin Wammes would score the winning goal at 3:20 into the period to win the game.

The Aeros travel to Smiths Falls on Thursday night to play the Junior Bears. Game time is 8:15 pm.
