Forthton – Leeds OPP continues to investigate a fatal head-on collision that occurred on Friday afternoon on County Road 29 between Temperance Lake Road/Cty Rd 28 and County Road 42 near Forthon.
Police say it happened around 1:00 pm when a tractor-trailer and sport utility vehicle collided head-on. The driver of the sport utility vehicle was transported to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The driver of the SUV was identified as a 65-year-old man from the Cardinal area. The driver of the transport was not seriously hurt.
OPP Collision Reconstructionists and members of the Traffic Collision Investigation Team continue to assist Leeds County OPP officers with the investigation.
County Road 29 was closed for several hours for the investigation but was re-opened Friday night.
