Assault Charges, Two Domestic Assault Charges!
Brockville – Police reports from the Brockville Police Service from February 6th & 7th, 2024.
Incident at the ODR Leads to Assault Charges:
On February 6, 2024, at about 4:00 pm, police received a call about a youth who was assaulted at the Outdoor Rink at Rotary Park on George St. Investigation revealed that a 22-year-old, male
became upset as he believed a group of youths was calling him names.
As tensions escalated, the 22-year-old, grabbed one of the youths who was a 14-year-old, male and punched him numerous times. The youth received injuries however, they were considered non-life-threatening. Information was collected at the scene and police were able to identify the assailant.
He was located, arrested and charged by police with assault and failing to comply
with conditions of a recognizance. He was released with conditions and a future court date.
Intimate Partner Violence:
On February 7, 2024, at about 8:15 pm, police received multiple calls regarding a disturbance at a residence on Brock St.
Officers arrived and investigation revealed that a 21-year-old, male had assaulted his girlfriend by throwing her to the ground, choking her and pulling her hair. Officers arrested the male where he spit on an officer and began to throw himself about in an attempt to claim injury while in custody.
The victim received non-life-threatening injuries. He was taken to cellblock where his behaviour continued by punching the walls and making derogatory comments. He was held in custody for a bail hearing for the offences of assault, choking, assaulting a police officer and mischief under $5,000.00.
Intimate Partner Violence:
On February 7, 2024, at about 5:30 pm, police received a call regarding a disturbance that took place at a residence on Webster Cres. Officers arrived and an investigation revealed that a 49-year-
old, male and his girlfriend had been in a dispute.
It was discovered that the male was under the influence of alcohol, had become upset and struck his girlfriend with a chair.
The victim’s injuries are considered non-life-threatening. The male was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon and was later released with conditions and a future court date.
