Kemptville – The Kemptville 73s won a 6-4 decision over the Cornwall Colts in CCHL action on Friday night.
The 73s scored three goals in the first period from Nicholas Bennett, Tyler Melvin and Trey Wandall. Cornwall would pick up one in the first on a goal by Bradley Fraser.
Kemptville would pick up two more in the second on goals by Matthew O’Doherty and a second of the night for Bennett. Nathan Garnier would score a second goal for the Colts in the period. The 73s would lead the game 5-2 at the end of the second.
The third period would see Cornwall score two goals from Luc Beliveau and Matheason Cameron but it would not be enough for the Colts. Kemptville’s Tyler Melvin would pick up one more in the period and go on to win the game.
The 73s travel to Renfrew tonight to face the Wolves. Game time there is 7:30 pm.
