Perth – The Athens Aeros were in Perth on Friday night where they lost a 3-2 overtime decision to the Blue Wings in EOJHL action.
The Aeros scored first on a goal by Rhett Palmer in the first period.
In the second period, Perth’s Spencer Bowes would put the Blue Wings on the board at 12:07 in the period. Nate Thompson then scored another goal for Athens at 12:37 in the period. The Aeros would lead 2-1 at the end of the period.
The Blue Wings would tie it at 2-2 in the third period on a goal by John Stewart and then send it to overtime.
There was no scoring in the overtime period so it went to a shootout.
George Carson would get the second goal in the shootout to win the game.
The Aeros are in Carleton Place on Friday night to play the Junior Canadians. Game time there is 7:45 pm.
