Gananoque – The Town of Gananoque has announced Melanie Kirkby as the new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) in a press release sent out on Wednesday.
In it, the Town said that the council selected Mrs. Kirkby after interviews were held with candidates in January 2024.
“The Mayor and Council of Gananoque are pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Melanie Kirkby as CAO of the Corporation of the Town of Gananoque effective February 14, 2024. Ms. Kirkby has held the office of Treasurer of Gananoque for the last nine years. During that time, her pursuit of excellence in her role and leadership skills have produced exemplary results for the Town. We invite you to join us in thanking and congratulating Ms. Kirkby on her new role and for her continuing service to Gananoque.” Said Mayor John Beddows. “The position of CAO is not only extremely demanding but also vital to how our Town functions. It was essential that the Town Council selected the right candidate to fill the most senior administrative position in the municipality.”
“I am thrilled to be taking on this new role with the Town. During this transition, continuity of service delivery to the residents and business owners of Gananoque is a priority for Town Council & staff. I am honoured to be the new leader of the many dedicated, hardworking, and talented people who together are ‘Team Gananoque’.” Said Mrs. Kirkby. “My Goal is to ensure that we continue to deliver on Council priorities and that Gananoque remains a wonderful place to work, live, and play.”
