Gananoque Islanders Won 9-5 Over Tweed Sunday in EOSHL in Game 2

Tweed – The Gananoque Islanders won game 2, 9-5 over the Tweed Oil Kings in the quarterfinal series on Sunday in Tweed.

Scoring in the first period for Gan was, Kevin Domingue (Ben Blasko, Brock Higgs), Aaron Duggan (Aidan Harris, Graeme Brown), Ben Blasko (Chad Duchesne, Graeme Brown) and Brock Higgs (Ryan Pawlikowski, Chad Duchesne). Tweed would score two goals in the first from Tyler Melancon (Brody Morris) and Darren Doherty (Brody Morris, Zack Elson).

The Islanders would pick up four more in the second on goals by Brock Higgs (Kevin Domingue), his second of the game, Keon Troccoli-Roik (Matthew Funk), Kevin Domingue (Brock Higgs, Ben Blasko) also his second of the game, Ryan Verbeek (Ryan Pawlikowski, Justynn Steven) and Ben Blasko (Brock Higgs) who also scored his second goal of the game.

The Oil Kings pick up one goal in the second from Keon Troccoli-Roik (Matthew Funk).

In the third period, Brock Higgs (Ben Blasko) would score his 3rd of the game with assists from Ben Blasko. Tweed would score two more from Mack Honchar (Will Jones, Keon Troccoli-Roik) and Zack Elson (Tyler Melancon, Keon Troccoli-Roik).

The Oil Kings out-shot the Islanders 42 to 34 in the game.

Gananoque leads the quarter-final series 2-0.

Game 3 is back in Gananoque on Friday night. The puck drops at 7:30 pm.
