Brockville – A Brockville man is facing numerous charges after police responded to a 911 call regarding a domestic assault.
Brockville Police say that on Wednesday, February 28th around 5:30 pm a domestic assault was reported that took place at a residence on Reynolds Drive in the city.
When officers responded to the location and after an investigation, they said that a woman had been assaulted by being pushed down and forcibly confined in the residence.
The 38-year-old male suspect had already left the residence when police arrived. Further investigation revealed that the victim had been assaulted and choked a short time previously. Police said the injuries were non-life-threatening.
Police say they located the suspect a short time later and arrested him.
The man was charged with two counts of assault, weapon possession (a knife), forcible confinement, overcoming resistance by choking and failing to comply with probation, and unlawfully in the dwelling.
He was held for a bail hearing.
