Brockville – Thousand Islands Secondary School (TISS) swimming athletes did very well this week at the OFSAA Swimming Championships held on Tuesday and Wednesday in Toronto.
This was the first time the TISS swim team made its first-ever appearance at OFSAA.
In the boy’s competition, TISS’s Corbin Longtin won a gold medal in the 100m butterfly with a PB time of 56:09. This was TISS’s first-ever medal in swimming at OFSAA.
Chesney Yee finished with a personal best time in the 100m breaststroke
In the girl’s competition, Aurora Longtin came 6th in the 100m butterfly, a season personal best for her, and 18th in the 100m backstroke. Aryka Bennett came 11th in the 100m individual medley and 12th in the 100m butterfly, both personal bests for her.
For the first time, the team came in 18th overall in a field of 188 schools in the open category.
