Brockville – A Winter Weather Travel Advisory is in effect for Brockville, Prescott, Merrickville-Wolford, Kemptville, Westport, and Charleston Lake for tonight and a Snowfall Warning for Gananoque & Mallorytown for today and tonight

Winter Weather Travel Advisory – Brockville, Prescott, Merrickville-Wolford, Kemptville, Westport, and Charleston Lake :

Light snow is expected to begin early this evening but should intensify by late evening. The snow will taper off from west to east on Saturday morning.

5 to 10 cm of snow is forecasted, with locally higher amounts possible with reduced visibility in areas of heavier snow.

Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly. Poor weather conditions may contribute to transportation delays.

Snowfall Warning – Gananoque & Mallorytown:

Significant snowfall today and tonight. Light snow is expected to begin this morning but should intensify late in the afternoon or evening. The snow will taper off from west to east late tonight.

Snowfall amounts near 15 cm with peak snowfall rates of 2 cm per hour possible. Reduced visibility in heavy snow.

This snow may have a significant impact on the evening commute in urban areas.

Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.

Be prepared to adjust your driving to changing road conditions. Slow down driving in slippery conditions. Watch for taillights ahead and maintain a safe following distance.
