Athens – The G. Tackaberry and Family Home (Maple View Lodge) construction is on track for occupancy in the summer of 2025.
Recent work has included:
- Window installation is partially completed
- Plumbing/HVAC wall rough-in work is ongoing
- Exterior brickwork, insulation, and siding are ongoing
- Interior framing and drywall are partially completed
The construction crews are working on:
- Finalizing installation of the dense glass and windows on the exterior walls
- Completing concrete pour for remaining stairwells
- Continuing boarding, insulation, and exterior siding
Maple View Landings Redevelopment Project will replace the existing 60-bed home with a modern, rural 192-bed home on its existing lands.
The construction of the new home will provide increased capacity to deliver quality specialized care to more seniors so they can continue to age close to home while continuing to foster a close-knit community for residents and staff.
The design of the new home was developed based on input from residents, families, staff, volunteers, and community members and supported by the Maple View Lodge Committee of Management and Counties Council.
The process was guided by the goal of creating spaces that will welcome residents and their loved ones into a comfortable, home setting while supporting best practices and optimal workflows for the team of care providers.
Construction started in September 2022 and will be completed in July 2025.
Residents are expected to move in sometime in August 2025.
