Brockville – Environment Canada has issued a Snowfall Warning for Brockville – Prescott, Merrickville-Wolford – Kemptville, & Westport – Charleston Lake.
Significant snowfall is likely today into Thursday, according to Environment Canada. It is expected to begin late this afternoon or early this evening and taper late Thursday.
Total snowfall amounts of 10 to 20 cm are expected with peak snowfall rates up to 5 cm per hour.
The potential of reduced visibility in areas of heavy snow.
Rain is expected to transition to snow late this afternoon or early this evening. The heaviest snow is expected this evening and overnight. Snow will taper in intensity through the day on Thursday.
With temperatures being very close to the freezing mark, the snow may be very heavy and wet in nature. Local utility outages are possible as a result.
Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult in some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.
