Gananoque – A Winter Weather Travel Advisory has been issued for Gananoque – Mallorytown by Environment Canada for this afternoon through Thursday.
Rain is expected to transition to snow this afternoon or early this evening. Snow may fall heavily at times this evening and overnight. Snow will taper in intensity through the day on Thursday.
Rain amounts of 10 to 30 mm can be expected, with snowfall accumulations possibly exceeding 10 cm and reduced visibility in areas of heavy snow.
With temperatures being very close to the freezing mark, the snow may be very heavy and wet in nature. Local utility outages are possible as a result.
Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.
Be prepared to adjust your driving to changing road conditions. Slow down driving in slippery conditions. Watch for taillights ahead and maintain a safe following distance.
