
Brockville – Retired Brockville Police Chief, Gerry Curtis passed away on Wednesday, April 17th at the age of 91.
Curtis was the Brockville Police Chief from 1984 to 1990 and had a 40-year career with the police service.
Mayor of Brockville Matt Wren posted on his Facebook page today and said the following: “On behalf of City Council, I extend heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of retired Chief of Police Gerald Curtis. He served as Chief from 1984-1990 after rising through the ranks of Brockville Police Services over a proud career”.
The city’s flags are now lowered at half-mast until sunset on Monday.
“To honour the life of retired Chief Curtis, and as a gesture of sympathy to his family, we have lowered the City’s flags until sunset Monday, the day of his funeral. We are grateful for his dedicated service and may he rest in peace”. the Mayor also stated.
