Athens – The Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a serious collision near Athens involving a single all-terrain vehicle which struck a tree, ejecting the lone occupant.
On April 21, 2024, just before 4:00 p.m., members of the OPP were dispatched to the scene of the collision on Big Water’s Lane. The lone driver, a 24-year-old man, was found with life-altering injuries. He was air-lifted by Air Ornge to a hospital in Kingston for treatment.
OPP Collision Reconstructionists and members of the Traffic Collision Investigation Team attended the scene to assist members of Leeds OPP with the investigation. The area has since re-opened.
