Brockville – The Brockville Theatre Guild is hosting its first annual one-act play festival, ‘Three Companies One-Act Weekend’ this weekend, May 3rd and May 4th at The Arts Hub in Brockville.
Three local theatre groups will be performing a one-act play of their own as part of this festival being held this Friday, May 3rd and Saturday, May 4th at The Arts Hub, St. John’s United Church, on Park Street, in Brockville. Show times are 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday night with a 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday.
The three local theatre groups are The Brockville Theatre Guild with ‘The Rosewood Art Society – Est. 1903’, Youth Opportunities in Arts with ‘Delayed’ and St. Mary High School with ‘Rabbit’.
Tickets are available at the door for $20 each for the evening performances and $15 for the matinee.
The plays vary in length with a total running time of 75 minutes with a short intermission between each to allow for sets to be struck and assembled. Audiences will get to see all 3 plays at the evening performances with only two at the matinee.
In true festival form, each group will be timed for their set up and take down. Audiences will have the opportunity to observe this process.
