Brockville – The City of Brockville posted on its Facebook page Friday that two new buses for Brockville Transit have finally arrived.
“Look for these new buses to be rotated into service as spares until they have their City logo and exterior decals added. The new buses will ensure Brockville Transit is back to regular service levels. We thank you for your patience over the past year while Brockville Transit was without any spare capacity.” said the post.
In a media release issued on April 17th, the city had previously said that the two new buses were ordered in early 2023 as part of the regular replacement program. They were set to arrive in November 2023, however, supply chain issues had delayed their delivery.
The city had said that in 2023 they had to remove an existing bus (Bus #50316) from service due to a structural issue with the frame, which left the system operating without any spare capacity since early 2023.
One bus was finally scheduled to arrive in late April, or early May with the second one expected to arrive in late June or early July.
