Next Committee Meeting – Brockville Library, May 30 @ 5:30 p.m.
Brockville – The Brockville & Area Multicultural Committee recently posted to Facebook that it needs volunteers to fill several key positions on the committee for the popular festival to survive.
The next committee meeting is May 30th at 5:00 pm at the Brockville Public Library.
This meeting is being held to discuss the Brockville Multicultural Festival; a long-loved community event that celebrates cultural heritages through food and music.
“There is tons of interest from food booth providers and cultural performers so we know it is possible to provide a full and vibrant Festival in the tradition that we’ve all come to know and love. However, the Committee currently has several key positions that must be filled for the Festival to be possible,” they said in a Facebook post recently.
The positions to be filled are:
- President
- Vice-President (Volunteer coordination)
- 2nd Vice-President (Site design and decoration)
- Treasurer
- Secretary
- Program Director (Entertainment scheduling)
- Public Relations Director (Media Relations)
- Associate Director (Health Unit Liaison)
They say, “The Brockville & Area Multicultural Committee does not currently have enough volunteers for all of the above roles and without more involvement from our community, the Brockville Multicultural Festival will not return.”
They are asking the public to please consider if you might be able to make the Festival possible by taking on one of the above-noted roles and joining them at the next meeting (May 30, 5:30 p.m. @ Brockville Public Library).
