Brockville – Plans are being finalized for the 89th Ontario Senior Men’s Amateur Golf Championship that will be contested at the Brockville Country Club from July 22nd to 25th. 156 senior golfers (ages 55+) will be coming to Brockville to play in this Golf Ontario major championship.
This will be a 54-hole tournament, with a 36-hole competition for 36 players aged 70+ also taking place within the larger event. Monday, July 22nd will be a practice round for all competitors. Tuesday, July 23rd & Wednesday, July 24th will see all 156 players on the course. At the end of the round on the 24th, a champion for the 70+ field will be declared and a cut to 60 players (and ties) will be made for the final 18 holes on July 25th.
A Welcome Cocktail Party and “Hot Stove Hockey Talk” will be featured following the practice round on July 22nd. The public is invited to join the players for “Movenpik” style dining and a panel discussion featuring Montreal Canadiens Hall of Famer, Larry Robinson and another Canadiens alumnus, as well as Ottawa Senators President and CEO Cyril Leeder and Sens favourite, Chris Neil. A fifth “Hot Stove” panel member is yet to be determined, however, an invitation to the PWHL’s Team Ottawa has been issued.

All ticket proceeds will be donated to the tournament’s charity of choice, the Weekender Program for Kids, which provides weekend food packs for children who benefit from school breakfast and lunch programs.
