Frankville – The Leeds County OPP is investigating a single-vehicle collision where two occupants were found deceased early Monday morning in Elizabethtown-Kitley.
Police say that shortly before 6:00 am on June 10th they responded to reports of a heavily damaged vehicle in the ditch on Kitley Elizabethtown Townline Road, just east of County Road 29.
Both occupants, a 62-year-old man from Frankville and a 30-year-old woman from Brockville, were found deceased by police. OPP says the collision is believed to have occurred several hours before it was discovered, as the vehicle’s engine was cold to the touch.
No witnesses have come forward so far, and the cause of the collision is still undetermined.
OPP Collision Reconstructionists and members of the Traffic Collision Investigation Team have concluded their on-site portion of the investigation and the roadway was reopened. The Office of the Chief Coroner and the Office of Forensic Pathology have begun their investigation.
