Brockville – On June 11, 2024, officers from the Brockville Police Service were investigating a group of individuals in relation to drug trafficking.
An investigation revealed evidence to support the belief that the officers had. A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle at about 5:00 pm in the area of Parkedale Ave. and Stewart Blvd. Four of the vehicle occupants were placed under arrest.
The vehicle was searched which resulted in the officers locating a Conducted Energy Weapon (TASER), brass knuckles, a quantity of cocaine, and various drug paraphernalia including alcohol swabs and drug-cutting agents.
It was also determined that some of the subject’s behaviour was in relation to fraudulent activity while selling cell phones. As a result, the vehicle was towed and the following is a list of subjects and their charges.
A 41-year-old, male was held for bail for offences of:
- Unauthorized possession of a weapon
- Possession of cocaine
- Fraud under $5,000.00
- Fail to comply with Probation Order
- Five counts of failing to comply with weapons prohibitions
A 30-year-old, female was released on conditions with a court date for the offences of:
- Two counts of unauthorized possession of a weapon
- Possession of cocaine
- Fraud under $5,000.00
A 28-year-old, male was released on conditions with a court date for the offences of:
o Fraud under $5,000.00
Police said the fourth person initially arrested ended up being a victim of the fraud.
