Roadway Line Painting Underway in City Overnight Tonight – June 17th

Brockville – The City of Brockville is asking residents to please avoid parking on the street overnight tonight, June 17th as Roadway Line Painting is underway.

Caution on the evening of June 17, 2024

Please avoid parking on the street tonight wherever possible. The City of Brockville assumes no responsibility for paint damage claims from motorists who cross wet paint lines.

Should you encounter a line painting crew on the road:

Do:

  • Slow down and stay well behind the truck
  • Obey the warning signs on the truck
  • Be patient
  • Unless otherwise directed, wait for the truck to pull over before passing

Don’t:

  • Pass, unless the warning signs direct you to do so
  • Cross the centerline

If your vehicle is splattered with paint:

  • Go to a car wash as soon as possible
  • If the paint does not wash off, spray the affected area with WD-40 and allow it to dry for 2 hours, then rewash the vehicle
  • If the paint remains, consider submitting a claim to your insurer

The City understands that this is short notice. Scheduling work with the proper weather conditions for painting is challenging.
