One person was taken into custody!
Prescott– A child has been located safe, and one person was taken into custody following a joint child abduction response by multiple police services.
On June 19, 2024, just after 2:30 p.m., the Service de Police de la Ville de Montreal (SPVM) notified the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and other police services of a child abduction in the City of Montreal. SPVM was able to identify a suspect and vehicle descriptions and believed the suspect was headed into Ontario.
Shortly after 4:00 p.m., Grenville County and Leeds County OPP officers located the child and suspect in a restaurant on Prescott Centre Drive. The child was in good health and was turned over to authorities in Montreal. The suspect was taken into custody without incident and transferred to the SPVM.
