Binghamton NY – The Brockville Bunnies are playing in the finals today at the Broome County Hall of Fame Tournament in Binghamton New York.

On Saturday afternoon in game 3, the Bunnies won 6-0 over Binghamton going 3-0 in round-robin play. Brockville earned the top seed in the 7-team tourney and will play in the finals this afternoon at 1:00 pm.

Ryan Crotty got the win with 5 scoreless innings and Wyatt Brandwood in his Bunnies debut on the bump goes 2 shutout innings of relief. Mattie Barkley and Hunter Sanger both had 2 run singles with Ethan Pert doubling with singles by Ryan Robinson, Lucas Gravlin, Zadok Roiger and Jackson Lemieux.

Jack LaBrash will get the ball on championship Sunday.

In game 2 on Friday, in a back-and-forth game, the Bunnies walked off Endicott NY 7-6 on a base hit by Lucas Gravlin in the bottom of the seventh.

The home plate umpire tried to make it about him right off the bat before the game started but Bunnies fought through it and took the win. Charlie Todd battled through 5.2 innings with little help from Blue.

Mattie Barkley picked up the win with 1.1 innings of relief. The boys swang the bats well pounding out 12 hits and some loud outs. Roboshow Ryan Robinson with 3 hits while Wyatt Last and Gravlin both laced a single and double.

Hunter Sanger doubled in the bottom of the seventh eventually scoring a winning run. Singles by Sean Pert, Noah Deryaw, Todd and Barkley. The only negative, coaches Brody Burns and Dan Burns may have to sit out a game after getting tossed.

“Brody earned it, I just asked politely to be tossed, good thing we still had Coach Devin Burns and Joe Hummel (who could easily have been the third tossed.) The funny thing was they threatened to throw Joe out causing a forfeit but Coach Devin stood up and said ‘I’m a coach too’” said Coach Dan Burns.

In game 1 on Thursday, Brockville started in rainy conditions with the Bunnies ahead 3-2 in the third when the game was halted and then started back up Friday morning at 10:00 am with the Bunnies hanging on for an 8-7 win against the tough Clinton County Mariners.

Lucas Gravlin started on Thursday but both pitchers had trouble with throwing strikes as getting a grip on wet balls made it tough.

The score was 3-2 Bunnies even though Clinton County had the only hit (hence tough conditions). Zadok Roiger gets the call on the mound when the game resumes and goes solid for four innings for the win with Mattie Barkley picking up the save.

The Bunnies outhit Clinton County 9-6 with guys at the bottom of the order coming up clutch. Catcher Ben Buxton had a double and solo home run to right field. Wyatt Last(s,d) and Charlie Todd(2s) with two hits each with singles by Ryan Robinson, Hunter Sanger and Roiger.

Bunnies also stole seven bases with Todd and Robinson leading the way with two each.
