Wolfe Island – Leeds County OPP are investigating a head-on collision on Wolfe Island that has sent several people to the hospital.
Officers with the Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Township of Frontenac Islands Fire Department and Frontenac County Paramedics were called to the scene, on Road-96, around 10:15 a.m. on July 14, 2024.
The two occupants of one vehicle, aged 72 and 78, were transported to hospital by Air Ornge due to the severity of their injuries, one being described as life-threatening. The occupants of the other vehicle ages 71 and 72, were transported to the hospital by Frontenac County Paramedics.
The investigation by Leeds County OPP continues, with assistance from an OPP Collision Reconstructionist and the Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team.
The roadway remained partially closed until just after 5:30 p.m. and was fully reopened at 11:00 p.m. when the on-scene investigation was completed.
