Bunnies Played 2 Double Headers at Home in Final Weekend of Regular Season Play

The Bunnies Won 2 & Lost 2 Over the Weekend!

Brockville – The Brockville Bunnies played their final weekend in regular season play this past weekend with two doubleheaders at home.

On Saturday the Bunnies came up short in a pair of games versus the Reds Elite squad by scores of 9-5 and 7-3. Despite outhitting the Reds on the day 20-16, the Bunnies’ defence wasn’t as sharp as it needed to be.

In game 1 the Reds Elite beat the Bunnies 9-5. Bunnies pitcher Jack LaBrash got squeezed early and gave up a 5 spot in the first inning.

The Bunnies responded with 3 in the second inning but couldn’t hop all the way back. Hunter Sanger and Ethan Pert were in relief. Ryan Robinson continues to hit the ball hard with 2 singles and a double while Mattie Barkley had two hits. There were also singles by Ben Buxton, Wyatt Last, Noah Deryaw and Sanger.

In game 2 the Reds Elite won 7-3 over the Bunnies. Lucas Gravlin took the loss despite only giving up 3 earned runs in 5.2 innings. Deryaw was in relief. Zadok Roiger had 3 hits (2s,d) while Sanger (s,d) and Gravlin had two each. As well there were singles by Charlie Todd, Buxton, Last and Deryaw.

On Sunday the Bunnies won both games winning 2-0 and 12-1 over the Reds Prime.

The bunnies pitching and defence were solid Sunday for the pair of wins. In game 1, in a quality pitching matchup, Charlie Todd got the complete game win allowing four hits with 6 k’s. Ryan Robinson continues to be a spark plug for the Bunnies with 3 hits(2s,d). There were singles by Mattie Barkley, Hunter Sanger, Noah Deryaw, Ben Buxton and Wyatt Last.

In game 2 the Bunnies won 12-1 over Reds Prime. Ryan Crotty went 5 innings for the win only giving up 2 hits. Sean Pert with a bust-out game hammering out 3 hits (2s,d,2rbis), while Last connected for a single, and double with 3rbis. Buxton doubled, with singles by Lucas Gravlin, Robinson, Barkley and Deryaw.

The Bunnies now wait to find out the playoff format for the CanAm league.

The Brockville Bunnies overall record stands at 24-19-1.
