Brockville – On July 4, 2024, at about 2:00 pm, police received a report regarding a 37-year-old, male failing to comply with his conditions of bail. The subject had been released by courts on June 28, 2024, with conditions to abstain from communicating with or attending within 100 meters of the victim’s residence.
These conditions were a result of several violent offences including assault, assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats and forcible confinement. On the reported date, the investigation revealed that the subject was within a few meters of the victim’s residence in the area of George St. The male was not located by officers when they arrived. They continued with attempts to locate him and an arrest warrant was issued.
On July 30, 2024, at about 10:00 pm, the Brockville Police Service learned from the Gananoque Police Service, that they had the male subject in custody, for unrelated matters. The subject was turned over to the Brockville Police Service and held in custody for a bail hearing for the offence of failing to comply with the release order.
